All classes begin the week of February 22, 2010 and continue for 10 weeks. (no classes March 22-26) They will culminate in a performance for parents and friends on May 15 at 1:00 p.m. This event is open to all who might be interested in taking a future class with us.

STORYTIME (Monday, 4:00-4:45 p.m.)
A beginning creative dramatics class for 4-6 year olds which explores fairy tales as a way to study character and plot. Students act out well-known stories, make up their own, and “make-believe” they are IN the stories. This class stimulates the imagination and focuses creative play. (Instructor: Jo Anne) ($110)

IMAGINACTIVE (Wednesday, 4:00-4:45 p.m.)
A beginning creative dramatics class for 4-6 year olds similar to Storytime. Students create characters and stories, turn them into dramatic action and learn to believe in the magic of the theatre. Theatre games provide a “fun” way to learn about improvisation, characterization and onstage performance. (Instructor: Jo Anne) ($110)

LET’S ACT UP I (Tuesday 4:00-5:00 p.m.)

Students aged 7-9 will produce a short play for the final performance. LET’S ACT UP II (Tuesday 5:00-6:00 p.m.)

Students aged 10 and up will produce a short play for the final performance. While some previous experience is helpful, it is not required. (Instructor: Laura) ($125)

MUSICAL THEATRE 101 (Thursday, 4:00-5:30 p.m.)

Students aged 8 and up will put on a musical (to be determined by the group at the first meeting) for their final performance. They will learn about proper singing technique, musical theatre dance, vocal projection and characterization as they develop their final production.
